A LETTER ON CREATING A LIFE THAT FEELS LIKE YOURS.
There’s a quiet moment that’s been happening more often around here.
It usually comes after the morning rush, after the noise settles just a bit…
when I look around and realize—
things are changing.
The boys are growing up.
Moving into their own lives.
The house feels a little different than it used to.
And Grace…
She’s not the little girl who used to stand beside me just watching anymore.
She’s becoming a young woman.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that,
I’ve found myself asking a different kind of question:
What do we want our life to look like now?
Not the version we once imagined.
Not the version the world quietly suggested it should be.
But the one that feels right for us.

So lately, we’ve been doing something simple.
We’ve been creating.
Not in a big, overwhelming, “build something incredible” kind of way…
But in the small, everyday moments that start to shape a life.
✨ A Fresh Batch of Candles
This morning, it started in the studio.
Wax warming.
Jars lined up.
Grace moving with that quiet focus she has when she’s in her rhythm.
There’s something about watching her create that never gets old.
Not because the candles are perfect—
but because she’s part of the process.
Every pour, every label, every small detail…
It’s hers.
And with each one, I can see it—
confidence building,
ownership growing,
a future taking shape in ways I never could have planned.

✨ Fluffy Gluten-Free Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits
Later, we moved into the kitchen.
Flour on the counter.
A little more mess than we intended.
A lot more laughter than expected.
We made gluten-free cinnamon raisin biscuits—
warm, soft, just slightly imperfect.
The kind of thing you don’t rush.
The kind of thing you don’t do for content.
Just something you make because it feels good to create.
And as simple as it sounds,
there’s something grounding about using your hands like that.
About making something from scratch,
without overthinking it.
